Lil Rhody Laugh Riot
Lil Rhody Laugh Riot is a bold new comedy festival that debuted in Providence, RI, bringing together 17 performers — including major names like Kevin Hart, Leslie Jones, Hannah Berner, Matt Rife, and Aziz Ansari — for a sold-out, citywide celebration of humor. The festival not only delivered unforgettable performances but also energized the local community, drawing visitors and boosting business throughout Providence.
I was tasked with creating the brand identity for this vibrant event, designing a playful and energetic look that reflects the power of humor to connect and uplift. From the dual-tone yellow and blue logo to a rich color palette of teal, aqua, gold, lemon, and navy, every element was designed to feel dynamic, fun, and inviting. Gradient backgrounds with subtle texture and grain add depth, while expressive typography — including the occasional swap of “i” for an exclamation point — amplifies the festival’s lively personality.
The result is a cohesive and memorable visual identity that helped establish Lil Rhody Laugh Riot as a must-see event. The success of the inaugural festival has set the stage for it to become an annual tradition, with a brand that’s built to grow along with it.
